Preparation

First haul post for a while huh...sorry. I am beginning my journey through University this Saturday and as you can imagine there has been a substantial amount of preparation, so basically I've bought a lot of things! I have a few post ideas for over the next few days if not weeks so keep checking up on me. Here are just a few things I picked up for myself to take with me to Uni, hope it's not too boring for you guys! I promise promise promise I will get some outfit looks up soon,

V-neck Top - Topshop (black seems to be sold out but I like this colour too)

So yeah...bought another pair of mom jeans...I'm weak take pity! Long story short my other pair of mom jeans are getting on a bit now and so not only did I buy a new pair I carried out some DIY. I've been wanting a pair of ripped jeans for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it myself. I will post photos and details of how I did it soon!

Thank you so much for reading.

The Liebster Award

Okay guys so I have been away from here for a stupid amount of time and I am sorry to have caused you the pain of living without me. I kid, I kid! I've had a lot of stuff keeping me occupied over the past while but things are opening up a bit and I feel like I will be able to dedicate more time to my blog again as before. On return to my blog I noticed that a kind lass has nominated me for this Liebster Award. I am not entirely sure what this award is about however from what I can gather it's a great way to connect with other bloggers as well as let you guys know a little bit more about me! So thank you Aoife for nominating me, I really appreciate this opportunity!

The rules to this are as follows -
1. You must link back to who has nominated you
2. You must answer the 11 questions set to you
3. You then share 11 facts about yourself
4. Then you must go on to nominate a further 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers
5. You cannot nominate who had nominated you
6. Finally notify all those who you have nominated

These are the questions Aoife has set for me!

1.  What inspires you to blog?
For me I was initially inspired by youtubers and big bloggers however now that I have started my blog the thing that really keeps me going are you guys...the people that actually read about what I have to say and take a mutual interest in the things I do talk about.
2.  What is the meaning behind you blog name?
I named my blog 'My Cup of Style' as a play on the phrase ' my cup of tea'. It's a phrase that my family and I do use and I felt that trying to tie in a bit of comedy to my blog would represent me a bit more. I'm quite typically Scottish in the sense that my sarcasm and sense of humour plays a big part in my life so I couldn't exactly leave that out of my personal blog!
3.  If you had to live with only one beauty/makeup product for the rest of you life what would it be and why?
Concealer. Without a doubt it would be concealer because to be completely honest I feel dirty and minging if my skin looks oily and uneven, silly I know but I instantly feel better when my skin looks perfected.
4.  What country would you like to visit and why?
New Zealand! I want to see the All Blacks play on their home turf and experience the gorgeous scenery.
5.  What Bloggers do you look up to?
I love beautycrush. I have been following her since her first Youtube videos and the way she has made a name for herself motivated me to share my style and opinions.
6.  Describe your sense of style?
Hmmm...that's a difficult one. I would have to day generally my style is very 90's inspired. I don't ever tend to look at 90's clothing for inspiration but somehow my outfits end up looking a bit that way. I'm not to sure about my style per say because I do feel I am yet to properly define it.
7.  What are your favourite clothing shops?
Topshop, Urban Outfitters and of course Missguided.
8.  What is your dream job?
I have absolutely no clue!
9.  What is your favourite book and why?
...ehh...I don't really read...I prefer films :L
10.  If you won €1,ooo what would you spend it on?
*£1,000 haha. If I had that much money, sounds really boring but I would put it in the bank to go towards uni costs. I'm trying to save up as much money as I can right now for Uni so that extra cash would be phenomenal.
11.  Have you ever been to Ireland?
NO!! I have always wanted to go and there's no doubt in my mind that I will soon!
My 11 Random Facts
1. I'm a complete film freak
2. I consume more Doritos and Humous than any human being should, it's a real problem.
3. I am extremely sarcastic. My friends and family tell me that they can never tell whether I am being serious or not when I talk to them.
4. My dad calls me 'his little beer connoisseur'
5. I am attending the Glasgow School of Art as a student this year.
6. I laugh when I watch horror films...
7. My favourite genre of music is Classic Rock
8. ...and my favourite genre of film is Comedy
9. My favourite accents are Scottish and Australian
10. I exhibit my artwork in a Gallery
11. I am 5ft 7'' tall.
SO onto my nominees!
..and for you I have my ten questions;

1. What is or was your favourite subject at school?
2. What inspires your personal style?
3. What would be your perfect meal?
4. What is your favourite tv programme?
5. What beauty product are you lusting after right now?
6. What is your favourite colour to wear?
7. Who is your favourite designer?
8. Have you ever been to Scotland?
9. What was the best holiday you have ever had and why?
10. What keeps you blogging?

Hope you guys enjoy this tag and find lots of new bloggers
AND
Thank you so much to Aoife again!

Catch you all soon,

Kaytlin

Cash Money

Spending...yet again. My only excuse is that I'm doing it for you guys ;)There were a few things I intended to buy and a few that were nice surprises. I hope you enjoy looking at what I have thrown my money at as much as I enjoyed doing it.

So these sandals gave me a right testing to get a hold of. I had wanted them for ages and when I saw they had one size 7 left in the store I picked them up. At the till the woman who served me took of the security sticker that was on the inside of the sandal...which ripped off the material. So I asked her to get another pair which she kindly did but when I got home they were a size 4...gutted. I then proceeded to hunt online where they were sold out everywhere. SO I called up the Topshop store I had made the purchase in and thank god the ripped pair were still there! (never thought I'd actually be happy about a damaged item) They very kindly sent them to a store closer to me and gave me an extra 10% off because of the tear. Despite the trouble I am still very happy with the sandals and despite the confusion I still feel like I was given a healthy service from Topshop, they were helpful and keen to solve the mistakes that were made, so thanks Topshop, you've made my feet very happy!

I purchases a full size Hoola bronzer from Benefit since I became obsessed with in in a kit I have from them and the woman serving me generously gave me samples of their Hello Flawless foundation and Porefessional Primer. I will review these products in the near future for you since I am quite impressed with them. Over all a fairly successful shop I think...definitely eventful but successful none the less.

See you soon!

Mac Pro Longwear Foundation and Concealer Review

So Mac is one of those companies that I know a lot of people lust after yet can sometimes be a grey area as far as insured quality goes and because the products are definitely pricer than most are comfortable with I know it's important to get an idea of what the product are really like before you invest. So to help you out if you are interested in these products, I'll give you my honest opinion!

Firstly the Mac Pro Longwear Foundation. With this you get the standard 30ml of product with a pretty good low SPF of 10 (handy for photos, you don't get flashback). I have a love hate relationship with this. On the one hand it is amazing; it give medium to build-able full coverage, a demi-matte finish and doesn't look cakey, basically everything I want from a foundation. On the other hand...it breaks me out..bad. BUT that being said I feel it necessary to explain that my face just seems to be overly emotional when it comes to liquid makeup...it's not unusual for hissy fits to occur. If your skin is overly sensitive like mine is this will probably have the same result however if you don't I seriously don't think you'll have a problem, please comment if I'm wrong! Despite my own personal incompatibility with this product for everyday use I would still recommend it. I use it very often for special events and occasions because using it infrequently doesn't affect my skin negatively at all. It photographs brilliantly and looks flawless, love it.

Now the Pro Longwear Concealer. This will be short and sweet. It's amazing, you have to buy it. I mean, full coverage yet natural looking and it doesn't break me out at all...I just have no clue how they do it! I sometimes wear this on its own as a foundation because it is so good. I cannot recommend this product enough. Only one con though the amount of product you get. Maybe this is my own fault for putting perhaps too much make-up on but when I use this I put three pumps worth onto my face...and before I know it the damn thing is finished. I go through a whole one of these in a matter of a few months...which I know probably isn't that bad but I always feel like it is annoying how often I have to fork out 15 quid for it. Nevertheless I do it anyway...vicious cycle I've got myself in here! That aside this concealer is the best I have ever used, period. That wasn't as short and sweet as I hoped...oh well.

Here comes the summer!

Monday just passed I had a short trip to Glasgow with my dearest mother. The exciting news is that it absolutely boiling...sad news is my camera broke and so my photos once again are taken on my iphone, I really need to sort my life out! A couple images here of where we ate and my outfit for you guys.

We went to Di Maggio's Italian restaurant next to Queen Street. I had a pizza with salmon, chicken and sweetcorn, it was really quite tasty and we sat outside under umbrellas with these cool outdoor heaters that they had, the food wasn't mind blowing but was still delicious and the service was good, I would recommend!

Cheesy snapchat selfie, a feast for the eyes I'm sure, don't say I don't treat you well ;)

Hope you enjoyed this completely and utterly informal post!

Small Haul

Recently I felt it was about time I bought a couple of items that I have been admiring for quite some time now. My general attitude toward buying items tends to be that if I see something I like I will sit on it for a while, if weeks later I still really want the thing I've been admiring I will go buy it. By doing this I almost guarantee that I love everything I buy rather than impulse buying and possibly wasting my money. I was simply not able to resist these items and, the shoes especially, have become a staple in my wardrobe. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?
