Pink Purchases

I decided to make a little trip to my local Superdrug and buy a few new bits and bobs and as you can see I ended up with an unnecessary amount of pink products, especially considering we are coming up to autumn, but hey, I like pink and I'm sure you won't be too offended. I confess, I only really went in to the shop for a new blusher!  Buying blusher is probably the only thing I am always extremely reluctant to spend more than a couple of pounds on because...I sort of feel they all look the same...cosmetic blasphemy I know! I do apologise but no matter how many I seem to try, on me blushers always look a dark pink colour despite how pale the pigment may appear.  HOWEVER this Revlon Matte blusher in Perfectly Peach amazingly has changed my mind and encouraged me to venture back into the world of blushers.  The colour is very true on the skin to what you see in the box which is what I have been searching for.  The lipstick in Pink Pout is amazing.  Full Stop. It's matte like it says, but not dry and the colour pay off is beautiful.  Their Just Bitten Balm Stain is some kind of miracle, it goes on and sits on your lips like a moisturizing balm...yet it doesn't budge.  So all in all my wary adventure to Superdrug paid off as I ended up with three really beautiful products that I look forward to using more.

Skin Salvation

Recently I had a slight disaster with my skin and it seemed as if explosions had gone off on my face - not a look popular with many girls I'm sure. So with this in mind I, uncharacteristically, made the decision to invest in the hype surrounding some of L'Oreal's new Skin Perfection range along with their older but much raved about Nude Magique CC Cream hoping they would bring me skin salvation. So here are my thoughts on the three products I bought...

The Cleansing & Perfecting Milk

After a number of weeks of using this cleanser I really have no complaints. The formula is, as it says on the tin, of a milk consistency and removes my makeup very well. I was worried that since it had slight scent to it that the formula would irritate my eyes and sensitive skin however this was surprisingly soft and gentle around my eyes and on my face. After a couple of days I do have to say the abominations on my cheeks were clearing up and the redness was greatly reduced, my skin wasn't ''perfection'' but it was certainly getting there. I would definitely recommend!

The Magic Touch Instant Blur

This product is also a very nice one. I'm actually very surprised at how happy I am with the results of this range, considering I'm a great sceptic when it comes to ''miracle'' skin products. The idea with this is that you apply it to your face before applying makeup and it essentially is meant to perfect your complexion. I absolutely love how thick this product is because it really makes me feel like my craters of pores are being effectively eliminated and the texture gives your skin that fresh powdered feel, which I much prefer to sticky and shiny. The overall effect is shine free, crater filled soft supple skin...very nice. My only qualm with this is that I don't feel it lasts but that could be due to the way I use it or the makeup I wear on top, who knows. I have not tried the other products in the range however given the success of these two I would really love to give them a go at some point.

The Nude Magique CC Cream - Anti-Redness

So in short...this is basically my new favourite thing. It's not the best product I have ever tried but it definitely fills a niche in my foundation routine that desperately needed filled. I have redness concentrated on the lower sections of my cheek area and therefore I concentrate foundation coverage there, however, this method never looked as flawless as I would really wanted it to be but I just settled with it because I had no clue how to sort a problem like that. Initially I used this CC Cream alone, like you're supposed to however the redness on my cheeks still annoyingly shone through, so I tried using the cream on top of my foundation, only applying the foundation to my red areas. The result of this was skin that was one colour, finally!! And I thought it was such a simple ask of the world!
